Frequently Asked Questions
Below are questions we are frequently asked. Should you have any other questions please contact us.
How can a therapist help with my mental health concerns?
A mental health therapist can diagnose, treat, and provide therapeutic support for various mental health conditions, tailoring treatment plans to individual needs. The therapist provides a safe environment for the client to share his/her or their concerns regarding their mental, emotional, and spiritual health.
What should I expect during my first visit to a Therapist?
During the initial appointment, the therapist will conduct an initial assessment, discuss current symptoms, medical history, mental health history (including family system mental health history) and collaboratively design a personalized treatment approach, while maintaining a safe environment conducive to healing.
Can a therapist prescribe medication for mental health conditions?
No, a therapist is not licensed to prescribe medication. However, we can assist you with referrals to a medical provider to evaluate your condition and assist with medication management.
Can I make an appointment?
Absolutely, currently all appointments are being scheduled directly with the therapist. Please use the contact information to request an appointment, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Who do you treat?
We are very proud to say that, while there are some services we do not offer, we provide care for everyone regardless of age, gender, or sexual orientation. If you require a service or have a condition that we do not treat, we will be happy to assist you with a referral to a provider who specializes in your condition. Acceptance and inclusivity is a primary value in our organization.
Do you offer a free consultation to see if we are a “fit?”
Yes, we will be happy to schedule a 20-minute consultation at no cost to discuss our services, meet the therapist, address your questions, discuss insurance or payment options and to see if we are a “fit.”
Will my insurance cover my appointments?
Typically, your insurance will cover the session. For psychedelic-assisted therapy, we may be able to bill your insurance for part of the treatment and we accept private pay for the remainder. Contact us to discuss the details and your specific needs.
Is my information confidential when consulting with a therapist?
Absolutely, therapists adhere to strict legal, ethical, and confidentiality requirements to ensure your privacy, and protect your personal information unless safety concerns arise.
Do you take insurance? What are your rates?
We are credentialed with several insurance providers and are adding more every day. Contact us to see where we stand on the insurance provider you currently use.
What if I need to be seen immediately?
If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, please dial 911 or reference the crisis resources that can be found on our Mental Health Resources page. If you need to be seen by our therapist on an urgent basis please dial the number on our contact page, fill out the contact page, or use the text function for this website. In each place you can reference “Urgent” and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Is there preparation needed for my first appointment?
Yes, but the preparation is simply paperwork that may include consent forms, some assessments based on your reported condition and insurance and contact information. For psychedelic services, the preparation may be more detailed and will include a medical assessment and prescription by an approved physician.
How long are the sessions?
Sessions are generally 50 to 55 minutes. However, psychedelic sessions are often longer with administration sessions taking approximately 3-5 hours.
Where does the session take place?
Currently we are only providing therapy sessions online through a HIPPA compliant system. We recommend you attend these sessions from an environment that provides you with the safety and privacy that will allow for an open conversation with your therapist.
Can I contact my therapist between sessions?
Yes, while we would like to keep the work we do together within a session, should you need a brief conversation with your therapist between sessions, we are often available via text message. We cannot commit to immediate responses as our schedules tend to be heavily impacted.
How do I make an appointment?
We are looking forward to hearing from you. Please contact us via the contact form, give us a call or send us a text to get the scheduling process started.
